POISE Summer School 2006
Talks and photographs from Cortona are now available on this site. These will be updated as more content is received from the delegates of the conference.
As part of the POISE research training network, a summer school was held from 25th to
30th June 2006 at the Scuola Normale Superiore site 'Palazzone di Cortona', a fortified villa
on a hillside of olive and cypress trees. Cortona is in southern Tuscany, close to Arezzo,
and is best known for being the location of the film 'Under the Tuscan Sun'.

The Palazzone is a centre for academic activities and conferences, with rooms for student guests as well as an old laundry drying room which has been converted into a large relaxation & recreation hall. Full details of the facilities can be found via the Palazzone di Cortona homepage. A leaflet giving a map and directions as well as some impressive photography from the area is available to download (this was originally available from the SNS website, but has been removed from there for some reason so is now provided here for your convenience).
The organisers of the POISE Summer School gratefully acknowledge financial support from TeraNova and Cascade Technologies
