New reactor for site-controlled quantum dot growth

On 1 March 2016, the award of a £2M molecular beam epitaxy cluster tool to Maurice Skolnick and co-workers Jon Heffernan, Edmund Clarke and Ian Farrer was announced by the Science Minister Jo Johnson. This new reactor will be dedicated to the growth of highest quality quantum dots, and dots with controlled site placement. It will be provide major enhancement to the whole UK community working in the field of self-assembled quantum dots and quantum technologies.
