The 25th anniversary of the group

On 21 March 2016, the group held a one-day symposium to recognise the 25th anniversary of the founding of the group in January 1991. The day was introduced by Maurice Skolnick who explained that the group has developed from small beginnings in 1991 of 2 academics, one PhD student and one simple laboratory. Since then over the 25 years, it has published in excess of 500 papers, given 240 invited talks and amassed very substantial grant income, and has expanded its personnel to its present position of 55 group members. Following this introduction, the Vice Chancellor of the university gave a short address. This was followed by the main part of the day composed of talks by 10 former group members and posters over lunch time by present group members (see the programme below). An excellent time was had by all!
